Help make movie controls comfortable on Galaxy XR

Vistalyra's Android XR beta plays your own 2D, side-by-side or over-under 3D, VR180 and 360 videos. Galaxy XR testers found that the blue panel still covered the movie after minimising. The beta retains a separate compact playback bar below the centered video, with Play/Pause, Show controls and Hide controls. Hide removes the whole panel; tap the video to bring controls back. The beta also includes separate width/height correction for flat videos, saved per movie, and a read-only WebDAV media library. Controls, app-switch recovery and authenticated playback/seeking passed emulator checks; Galaxy XR and real NAS retesting remain necessary.

Install through Google Play

Google has approved the latest Android XR beta for open and closed testing. It includes saved menu sizing, better waiting for slow-starting WebDAV streams, compact playback controls, saved picture width/height correction and the read-only WebDAV library. Cancel loading is now available for a waiting WebDAV folder, with safe retries without restarting the app. The same update is available to private testers. Real Galaxy XR and remote-server retesting remain necessary.

Open Google Play beta

Use the same Google Play account on your Galaxy XR and follow the opt-in page. The store displays the temporary 100% discount, but free installation on an eligible headset still needs tester confirmation. Do not pay to test. If Play shows a price or an access error, stop and email us or use the free signed APK below.

For private Play access, email raheelswati1@gmail.com with the Google Play account used on your headset, privately. We will confirm access before you install. Private Play opt-in for enabled testers.

Download the latest Android XR test update

Free beta download, approximately 79 MB. This is an APK, so there is no ZIP to extract. Open it on Galaxy XR with Android's package installer; if asked, allow installation for the app you used to download it. Existing Play installations may have a different signing certificate: if Android refuses the update, contact us before removing anything.

A short test is enough

  1. Open one of your own local videos and watch for a few minutes. Can you see the movie clearly with the compact controls, then use Hide controls and tap the video to show them again?
  2. Try moving the control panel by dragging its window border, seeking, and opening Projection, Stereo and Settings. Do selections work comfortably?
  3. Switch to another app and return. Does Vistalyra stay open with your video selected? Email a few lines about what worked or failed, with headset software version and steps to reproduce any problem.

In the latest beta, Settings has a saved Menu size adjustment. Try a comfortable size, reopen the app and check that it stays saved. The compact playback bar stays small.
Optional: in Settings, adjust Picture width/height for a stretched flat video, then reopen it to check the saved proportions. If you already use WebDAV, try its Library button; use HTTPS for passwords. No server setup is required for the basic controls test. If a WebDAV folder is still waiting, use Cancel loading; you can then retry without restarting the app.

Honest feedback, including bugs, is helpful. No purchase, rating or public review is required. Recordings and diagnostics are optional; do not send private films or surroundings.

This is a beta, not a public production release. Galaxy XR comfort, hand interaction and high-resolution performance still need real-headset checks. This Android XR edition does not claim validated theater environments, DRM playback or SMB/DLNA browsing.
